## Before you hire us

### Is Hernandez Lawnscape licensed and insured?

Yes. We are insured and bonded. We hold Louisiana landscape horticulturist license LH #4774, Gerardo is an NDS certified professional drainage contractor, and we hold Louisiana irrigation contractor license IC #0866 for sprinkler installation and repair. You can verify Louisiana landscape licenses through the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry.

### Who will actually be at my house?

The Hernandez Lawnscape crew, led by owner Gerardo Hernandez. Gerardo walks the assessment, draws the design on larger projects, and checks the work. We do not hand your yard to a subcontractor.

### Where do you work?

Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Walker, Watson, Central, Baker and the surrounding Capital Region, from two locations: 16148 Confederate Ave in Baton Rouge and 10801 Yarlin St in Denham Springs.

### What do you not do?

One-time mowing (lawn care runs on year-round plans; one-time cleanups are available), fertilization and lawn treatment programs (a separate state license we do not hold), and concrete or hardscape construction. If a job is outside our scope we say so and point you to someone licensed for it.

### Do you handle commercial properties?

Yes. Apartments, restaurants, churches, hotels, RV parks and managed properties across the Baton Rouge area are on our weekly routes, and the same licensed crew handles their drainage and irrigation repairs.

## How the work happens

### How fast can you come out?

Calls are usually returned the same day and emails within 24 hours. Once a quote is accepted, work usually begins within two weeks, except during the spring rush.

### How do you decide where a drain goes?

We start with one question: where is the last part of the yard to dry out after rain? That low spot is where the system starts. From there we trench toward a discharge point that is lower, usually the street or a ditch, so the pipe runs at about a 2 percent fall and gravity does the work.

### Will I need a pump?

Only when there is no natural slope from the low spot to a discharge point. If gravity can do the job, we will tell you that you do not need a pump.

### Do you draw a design?

Yes. Larger renovations include a design Gerardo draws himself in Morpholio Trace. The plan and the build come from the same hands, so nothing is lost between the drawing and the yard.

### Which grass do you install?

Centipede, St. Augustine, Zoysia and Bermuda, chosen for the sun, traffic and soil on your lot. We will tell you which one fits and why.

## Pricing and policies

### How much does a quote cost?

There is a $50 on-site assessment fee, and it is credited toward the installation. You receive an itemized quote by email so you can see what each part costs.

### What does a cleanup or a maintenance plan cost?

One-time cleanups are quoted after we walk the property, because the size of the job varies a lot from yard to yard. Maintenance runs on year-round weekly or biweekly plans and is quoted after we see the yard.

### What does artificial turf cost?

Installed artificial turf typically runs $16 to $20 per square foot, depending on pile height and how much base work the site needs.

### Is there a deposit?

A 50 percent deposit secures your place on the schedule after you accept the quote. The final invoice arrives by email and text after the walk-through.

### What is warrantied?

Drainage, irrigation and artificial turf installations carry our warranty. Living plants depend on weather and watering after we leave, so we do not pretend to guarantee them. Every job carries our 100 percent satisfaction guarantee: if you are not satisfied, we make it right free of charge.
